FAQs & everything you need to know about booking process
How do I book a tattoo appointment?
1
All bookings are made via e-mail only at betzylootattoos@gmail.com. I usually pick tattoo ideas that I feel within my ability/interest. Please take a look at my tattoo portfolio to get an idea of the type of work I prefer to do. I require full artistic freedom when designing custom work.
What to include in the email?
In the email please include the following:
- Name.
- Pronouns
- Phone number.
- Concept or idea of the tattoo.
- Placement.
- Rough size in inches.
- Reference pictures.
- Pictures of the area (if there are any moles, scars, or tattoos in the area I need to be mindful of when designing your piece.)
- Days of the week that generally work best for you from Tuesday - Friday.
Note:
Please know that emails that are the most specific are easier and faster to book. So please be as thorough as possible. An email that has all the information required will be booked sooner than others, but that does not mean some are more important than others. All emails are answered in the order they are received but the less we have to correspond back and forth the faster I can find an available date.
How much do you charge/what is your hourly rate?
2
I have Full Day or Half Day rate. Even with full sleeve work, Half Day booking is available, although depending on the style, sometimes Full days may be recommended. Please contact me for more information.
Yes! A $200 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking once we have confirmed a time and date for your tattoo. An Invoice will be sent to your email and you will have to pay your deposit within 3 days of being offered a date. If the deposit is not paid, the invoice will be canceled and the spot will not be saved. If we’re doing a large-scale piece over multiple dates, your deposit will be carried on to your last appointment of the tattoo/upon completion of the tattoo. Appointments and deposits are strictly non-transferable.
3
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Sometimes e-mails can end up in my spam folder or might have been overlooked. Please understand that it may take up to 4 weeks to receive a response but if it’s been longer please feel free to reach out again.
4
What if I don’t hear back from you?
I will only be booking 4 months at a time. Emailing during the time my books are open DOES NOT guarantee a slot. It is not a first come first served! Once all requests are reviewed, replies will be sent out to successful requests. This does not mean I do not want to do your tattoo and you are always welcome to email me back when books reopen.
5
How far are out are you booked?
Do you do touch-ups, cover-ups, or reworks?
6
Touch-ups, yes. Your first touch-up on a tattoo done by me is free if there is a need for it.
If a tattoo that needs to be touched up was done by another artist, that is on a case by case basis, you are welcome to request a consultation for further discussion.
Cover-ups and reworks. I'm always willing to consult with you to see if it is a project I’m comfortable with. It’s not often I take cover ups anymore but if the piece is faded enough and the project aligns with my availability, I am willing to look into it.
Unfortunately, you cannot book for a friend or family even if it is a matching tattoo. Every person booking an appointment must contact me personally to ensure that they know and agree about my hourly rate and deposit contract. I cannot book an appointment for somebody that I have not spoken to or agreed with.
7
Can I book for my friend?
I understand that you want to be involved in every step of the process in designing your tattoo and that you may want to see a full drawing or sketch before your appointment for approval. However, due to my workload designs will not be ready to view/make changes until the day of your appointment. If you are wanting to make any changes please make sure I am known about the changes at least 1 week before your appointment. I schedule enough time during your tattoo to make minor changes or add ons to the design to a certain extent. If changes are major or the design needs to be completely redone we may have to reschedule your appointment but I cannot guarantee that it will be close to your original appointment.
8
Can I see my design beforehand?
Can I bring a friend with me to my appointment?
9
We are a small open studio and we prefer to keep foot traffic at a minimum when the studio is full. I prefer if you only bring 1 guest. No kids allowed.
I’m under 18, can I still get tattooed even with parental consent?
10
Unfortunately, we do not tattoo minors in our studio.
I need to cancel my appointment, how do I go about this?
11
If you need to cancel/reschedule, please give me at least 3 days notice otherwise you will forfeit your deposit and you will need to pay another deposit to reschedule.
Can I get tattooed if I am pregnant, breastfeeding, or if I have an illness or medical condition?
12
I will not tattoo you if you are pregnant. But you are breastfeeding we can go over details of preparation for your appointment.
If you have an extreme medical condition such as a blood disease or heart condition or anything that could affect the healing of the tattoo or affect you physically, I will not tattoo you unless you have been given the go-ahead from your doctor.
Is the studio accessible for people with disabilities?
13
Absolutely! The studio is on ground level. Please let me know before our appointment if you are in a wheelchair so we can plan ahead.
